The initial set up can only be done by an M2X staff member. Please contact support@m2xgroup.com if this has not already been communicated with the team.
Once this is connected, you can follow the remaining steps to complete the integration.
Setup: linking to a Xero account
Connect to Xero:
In your platform,, head to Admin --> Account settings --> Integrations
Click “Connect to Xero”. By doing so, a secondary window should open up prompting you to enter your Xero email and password.
if the login is successful, you should see three buttons highlighted in green: “add Xero revenue codes”, “sync contacts with Xero” and “refresh Xero account codes”. If unsuccessful, these remain grey
Sync Contacts with Xero:
Clicking this button will trigger the contacts that you have on Xero to flow through into your M2X platform. If there were any pre-existing customers in your M2X platform then you should be asked to “fix out of sync contacts”.
You can fix out of sync contacts by heading to the individual contact in M2X, and adding the Xero contact ID in here. **If this is a deleted customer that you no longer want to use, you can have a "Deleted contact" in Xero, then use that same ID for all deleted/disabled customers in M2X.
Once all out of sync customers have a Xero contact id against them and all the Xero contacts are imported, you will not be able to add new customers directly into M2X. All new customers will need to be entered into Xero first, and then you can sync contacts with Xero again in order for the new customer to flow into M2X.
Account Codes:
The last step to finish setting up your Xero integration is to sync your account codes (general ledger codes) by clicking ADD XERO ACCOUNT CODES. This step will allow you to pull your list of account codes into you M2X account. Once you have done this step you will have to go to your product code and miscellaneous code pages and match the GL codes to your M2X products and miscellaneous charges.
Setting up Product Codes:
You can enter cartage, product, and storage GL code against each product. You can do this by going to Admin --> Products. It’s worth checking if the Xero account codes are refreshing properly on this screen.
Setting up your Miscellaneous Charges:
You can enter the GL code against each miscellaneous charge by selecting the GL codes from the dropdown. This is found under Admin --> Pricing --> Misc. Charges.
Credit Notes
When modifying a transport price and/or product, cartage line after the job has already been published, the system will notify the users about the changes made and if the quantity has decreased the user can either issue a credit note or a partial credit note through M2X.
