Load Share Consignment
The Load Share function allows you to group together a collection of consignments for the purpose of achieving freight break ratings for your customers. It is typically used when there are multiple consignments being picked up from the same location and delivered to locations close to one another.
To utilise the Load Share function, simply create a new consignment, and check the Load Share (LS) box.
Create another consignment in the same consignment group by clicking on the New Consignment in Group icon at top right of consignment modal.
Check the LS box on this consignment also.
Any consignment that:
· Is in the same consignment group; and
· Has the LS box checked
will be combined for the purpose of selecting the appropriate freight break for rating.
IMPORTANT:
Load share rating will only work for rate cards that consider total Consignment Pallets/Bins/Weight – rather than individual product lines. Such rate cards use the below configurations:
No Charge Consignment
For a consignment that needs to be dispatched, but not charged to the customer, you can use the No (NC) Charge check box. This function may be applicable for some empty pallet returns where the customer is not explicitly charged for that consignment.
Reverse Logistics
Reverse Logistics refers to the consignments that involve picking up an empty pallet or vessel at the same time as dropping off a full one. In M2X, these types of consignments can be autogenerated by using Supplementary Items with reverse logistics enabled. When a reverse logistics-enabled Supplementary Item is detected on a consignment, M2X can automatically generate the reverse logistics consignment.
Not all Supplementary Items are configured to have reverse logistics enabled – please contact your administrator to check which ones are.
To keep track of an item such as a CHEP pallet, plastic or steel bin, or other items that must be picked up once the goods have been removed from it, simply add a Supplementary item under the supplementary details section – by selecting the green plus sign and choosing the appropriate supplementary item from the drop-down list.
Some products have been configured to automatically add a supplementary each time they are used. Please see your administrator for details on which products these are.
Once a supplementary item has been detected that has reverse logistics enabled, a yellow banner will pop up, requesting whether the user wants to create a reverse logistics job or not.
If the user selects CREATE, a new consignment will be created in the same consignment group, with the delivery location on the original consignment as the pickup location and the delivery location on the reverse logistics consignment as the nearest ETL depot. These locations can be edited by the user.
The reverse logistics consignment will default to a No Charge (NC) consignment – which can be unselected by the user if required.
The user then selects Book Consignment Group at the bottom of the page.
