Entering a new location when creating a new consignment

  1. Open the consignment modal by clicking the green + button.

  2. Enter the name of the location

  3. If the location doesn’t exist, the system will display “no results found”.

  4. Click Shift and Enter or click the button that displays “Can’t find the location? Click here or press Shift + enter”.

  5. Type the address of the location, and Google will display the list of results.

  6. Select the correct address. If this is a one-off location which you wouldn’t like to save, there are no other steps required.

  7. If you would like to save the location after selecting the correct address, click on the pencil icon to edit and save the details of the location.

  8. The location modal expands:

  9. Enter relevant info for this location:

    • Loading pin: (mandatory).

    • Access pin: (mandatory).

    • Location Type: select from a drop-down (mandatory).

    • ID: code used to search location.

    • Property Name (mandatory).

    • Area: used for searchability purposes.

    • Facility: used for searchability purposes.

    • Customer Name: visible to the dispatcher when dispatching.

    • Contact Name: visible to the dispatcher when dispatching.

    • Mobile: visible to dispatcher and driver, useful for ON MY WAY messages.

    • Phone Number: visible to dispatcher and driver.

    • Email example@m2xgroup.com - this can be used for POD delivery.

    • Customer on hold: if this is checked, the dispatcher can’t enter a delivery to this location. Based on the accounting/ERP integration, this can be prepopulated based on that or manually managed in M2X through the customer view.

    • Accessibility: add weight/time-related constraints which the route optimiser will factor in. If you want to restrict certain truck types, you must set up custom properties.

  10. Click Create New to save the location.

  11. If you want to update an existing location, click Update.
